Best times to go:
January to March is high season and is hot and dry and a good time for game viewing. The annual wildebeeste migration takes place between June and September in the Masai Mara but will vary depending on the rains. This is a must see for visitors to Kenya. August to March is the best time to visit the coastal resorts of Mombasa, Malindi or Lamu. |

Kenya is divided by the equator and enjoys a tropical climate. It is hot and humid at the coast, temperate inland and very dry in the north and north-eastern parts of the country. Summer is from December to March with the hottest months being February and March. The coldest months are July and August. The long rains occur from April to May and short rains in November. Rainfall is sometimes very heavy and tends to fall in the afternoon and evenings. |
