When the indigenous people of the southern continent observed the first trains in Africa, lines of rolling stock passing slowly on a distant horizon, they recalled the movement of a creature they called the Shongololo – the millipede.

Traversing nine countries in Southern Africa, the Shongololo Express operates three itineraries throughout the year from the 16 day Good Hope Adventure travelling through the very heart of South Africa to the Southern Cross Adventure, delivering a host of stunning experiences as you cross Mozambique, the Kruger National Park, Zambia, Botswana and more. The Dune Adventure explores the extraordinary landscapes of Namibia from the vast, colourful deserts, startling rock formations and delightful coastal towns to the great game reserves before winding its way to Cape Town.
