Day 2: Ben Lomond - Hiking and Cycle Descent and Monotreme Rummage Experience alpine flora and panoramic views from Ben Lomond, an awesome mountain of dolerite columns and scree slopes, with a 2 hour walk to Legges Tor, the second highest point in Tasmania. Enjoy the afternoon cycling down the mountain, the amazing trip takes you down the spectacular Jacobs Ladder road before connecting to old flour wheel drive tracks through the eucalypt forest. We then continue on fire trails and other single tracks finishing on the Blessington Road. The remaining of the afternoon can be spent on the great platypus and echidna hunt or monotreme rummage. Day 3: Tassie Devils and Taste of Tamor Start the day with a visit to Chudleigh Honey Farm and Trowunna Wildlife Park, cuddle a wombat, see the Tasmanian devils and hand feed and interact with the kangaroo and wallaby species. Then travel to the heart of high-yielding vineyard country in the Tamar Valley, lunching at Strathlynn Restaurant situated in the Ninth Island Vineyard where chef Daniel Alps offers excellent cuisine and wine which is matched by the sensational view of the Tamar River. You will visit family-run producers and state-of-the-art wineries during the afternoon. |
