Set at the edge of Mt. William National Park, the magnificent
wilderness coastline known as the Bay of Fires offers dramatic
landscapes, ecology and wildlife. Led by well informed Tasmanian
guides, small groups can explore this near unknown wilderness paradise.
Day 1: Travel through the scenic vineyards of the Tamar Valley to the
northern end of Mt Williams National Park. Walking distance is
approximately 9km - 4 hours. Overnight: Forester Bush Camp.
Day 2: Enjoy the magnificent coastline before stopping for lunch at
Eddystone Point Lighthouse. This afternoon explore the seclusion of
superb beaches and coves before arriving at the Bay of Fires Lodge.
Walking distance is approximately 14km - 7 hours. 2 nights: Bay of
Fires Lodge.
Day 3: Choose to sleep late, rise early to kayak in the protected,
clear waters on Anson’s Bay or snorkel in the marine nursery. This
evening enjoy a guided wildlife walk, and you may see wombats,
wallabies and possums...or with luck even a Tasmanian devil.
Day 4: After a leisurely breakfast you have time to explore the
Abbotsbury Peninsula, a dramatic 4km formation between the Tasman Sea
and the bird rich waters of Anson’s Bay. After lunch at the Lodge
return to Launceston.
