Canada

A country of enormous scale, measuring some 4,500 miles from coast to coast, Canada is also a country of great diversity and the ultimate year round destination, offering a host of new experiences with each of the passing seasons.

In the winter it's a romantic wonderland and its snow covered mountains and frozen lakes make it a winter sports paradise. The spring is a time of rebirth as plants blossom and colour returns to the landscape. In the summer as temperatures soar Canada’s endless lakes, rivers, beaches and forests provide welcome respite and a sun-bathed adventure playground. Its cosmopolitan cities come alive too, with pavement cafés, al fresco dining and street theatre the order of the day. Then with the Fall comes another spectacular transformation as leaves turn from green to gold and red before falling to create a russet carpet and the air starts to carry the unforgettable scent of log fires.

With so much to discover, and so many different seasonal experiences to enjoy, the best way to ensure you get the most out of your holiday to Canada is with Tailor Made Travel.

Climate:
Canada's climate is hugely varied, but it's a safe generalization to say that the areas near the coast or the Great Lakes have milder winters and cooler summers than the interior. November to March, by contrast, is an ordeal of sub-zero temperatures almost everywhere except on the west coast, though winter days in many areas are clear and dry, and all large Canadian towns are geared to the challenge of cold conditions.
