Buenos Aires - Ushuaia - Antarctica - Buenos Aires

Embark upon a breathtaking and sensational cruise through wildlife rich waters, beside giant glaciers and impressive icebergs to one of the last remaining wildernesses on the planet.

Day 1 Buenos Aires
Arrive at Buenos Aires Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Buenos Aires - Ushuaia
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia, the capital of the desolate, sparsely-populated, mountainous and windswept triangular island of Tierra del Fuego. (B)

Day 3 Ushuaia - Antarctica
This morning there is the opportunity to visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park before transferring at midday to board the Antarctic Dream for your cruise of Antarctica. This expedition offers an ideal introduction to the
Great White Continent, taking in the most exciting sights of the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.

Days 4 to 5 Drake Passage
Wandering albatross, storm petrels and other seabirds will escort the vessel as you sail south across this famous passage named after Sir Francis Drake.

Day 6 King George Island
King George Island will give you an early taste of what the Antarctic really is. It is the biggest island of the South Shetlands, where you will disembark in Potter Bay. Later that afternoon disembark again at Aitcho Island, and continue with the crossing of the Bransfield and Gerlache Straits and enter Andvord Bay where you find Neko Bay.

Day 7 Antarctic Peninsula and Neko Bay
Today have your first landing on theWhite Continent at Neko Bay and Port Lockroy (Gaudier Island).

Day 8 Pleneau - Petermann Island
Today sail south through the narrow Lemaire Channel, known as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Visit Petermann Island, the most southern land point of your expedition. Here you will be able to see colonies of Gentoo and Adelei penguins, skuas and blue-eyed shags. At Pleneau you should have the opportunity to take zodiacs and visit the impressive ice formations.

Day 9 Paradise Bay - Cuverville Island
At this point of your program you begin your return voyage. During the morning, you disembark or use zodiacs in Paradise Bay. In the evening visit Cuverville Island. Beside its dramatic scenery it is home to one of the largest colonies of Gentoo penguins and skuas. This rocky island is on the north side of the Errera Channel, between Ronge Island and the Arctowski Peninsula.

Day 10 Deception Island -Whaler’s Bay - Pendulum Cove
Continue sailing to Deception Island, which is the largest active volcano in the area. Disembark inWhaler’s Bay and Pendulum Cove where you can try the unique experience of swimming in this water. In the afternoon disembark at Hannah Point (Livingstone Island). This is one of the best places in the Antarctic to see fauna and with luck, you may also see sea elephants.

Days 11 to 12 Drake Passage
Today, leave the Antarctic and head north back across the Drake Passage and have the chance to dwell on the adventures of the past week. Take in the final lectures and enjoy the delicious gastronomy on board as you return to Ushuaia.

Day 13 Ushuaia
Thus ends an incredible and unique, expedition. After an early breakfast bid a sad farewell. Transfer from the pier to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 14 Buenos Aires
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
