Ica & Nazca Tour
Peru
Day 01, Lima - Ica (Distance: 246 Km, approx 4 hours)
Depart by private transportation with a private guide to Ica. En route visit the ancient adobe ruins of Pachacamac. The pre-Inca temple dating from AD 600-900, built centuries before the Incas, is noted for its great pyramidal temples and for the remains of frescoes adorning its adobe walls. The site also includes an on-site museum with an interesting collection of pre-Hispanic relics. On arrival in Ica, transfer to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Las Dunas (B)

Day 02, Ica - Lima
A short morning transfer to the Ica aerodrome to enjoy a flight over the perplexing Nazca Lines (approx 1hour 40mins). The enigmatic lines of Nazca and its mysteries fascinate scientists, archaeologists and visitors alike. The lines are stretched out in the sand of the coastal plains of Nazca covering an area of about 135 square miles. The flight allows you to see the geometrical, animal and humanoid markings. It is believed that they were made between 300 and 800 AD.

In the afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of the city of Ica including the Regional Museum of Ica and a wine cellar. A comprehensive collection of Pre-Columbian textiles, ceramics and artifacts from the Paracas, Nazca and Inca cultures is exhibited in the archaeological museum. Finally, continue your trip back to the city of Lima (B)
